Voted best picture of the trip. Two kids in Geneva.
After a rescheduled flight (we thought would never happen after missing our outgoing flight and hours of negotiation with the travel agent), three girls flew to the legendary city of romance - Paris.
Our Christmas eve dinner - Kebab. The romantic Eiffel tower. And the Versailles Palace.
Notre Dame Cathedral. Arc du Triomphe. The delicious French desserts - creme brulee (too burnt to be normal, but the manager couldn't understand our complaints in English ==||), panna cotta, tiramisu, and a few I can't name.
We flew to Budapest (a lovely city in Hungary) to meet our travel buddies, finally.
Eating in a local market. And taking a hot bath in the Sze Chenyi Medicinal Bath. Falling into the tourists trap of not validating our train ticket.
Taking walks along the Danube River (yes, it is blue...just like the song). Taking pictures in our lovely apartment-hotel, with star-like lights on the ceiling.
Acting practice: #1 Winning lottery, #2 blowkiss, #3animal pose, #4 saw a cute person
Then we took a train to Geneva, Switzerland, where Juliana - Azlynn's eldest sister works.
Family style dinner, sledging at the Alps (a freezing adventure that involved flying off the track down the hill, toppling over in the snow, braking with our shoes; all done in fall jackets, sneakers and my dollar-store, durian opening cotton gloves)
Life on the Alps. Proudly standing at the top of Europe - Jungfraujoch, a below freezing -26 degrees Celcius, in our fall jackets again.
Back to Paris again.
Our last feast in 2009. Eating fresh crepes in front of Sacre Coeur - Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Our French feast of cheese fondue (bitter cheese fondue with lots of wine, hence Caryn's face) and delicious beef BBQ. Ice cream in Paris is shaped into a rose if it's a cone, romantic and delicious.
After our flight to London got cancelled (great travel luck thus far), we did what we want to do in London - getting a haircut. We also visited the Louvre (closed on our last day in Paris if we went to London).
Galette and the lucky pendant. Tradition says the person who gets it will be the King of the day, commanding everyone, with the youngest being the lowest slave. My modified version - everyone make a wish and the winner shall get his/her wish granted. I won.
Everyone else took turn being the 'King'. Le petit prince, Miss Malaysia and Miss Pouty.
