Addiction

When something brings fun and pleasure, we tend to indulge ourselves in it more.

When it is something bad for us, and we cannot live without it, we call it an addiction.

How should we draw that line between good and bad?

Everything pleasant and pleasurable is sure to be addictive, if addiction is to be avoided,
is everything enjoyable to be avoided?

When the devil within is adamant that a guilty pleasure is good for you, what basis does the angel have to deny that pleasure? Morals? Justice? Social acceptance? Religion?

How were these basis set up?

What are the very grounds that tell us that a certain hobby is perverse or bad?

Just wondering...

What you ask for

When you pray for patience, does God give you patience?
Or does He give you an opportunity to be patient?

- God, from Evan Almighty

When we pray for love, God gives us a chance to love.

When we pray for courage, God gives us the opportunity to be brave.
